The Great Thai Chef has been a restaurant in Union Square, Somerville for ten years, but very few people know about it.
Those that do, know that Ronnarong, or Ronnie as friends call him, really is a Great Thai Chef. The man makes a Tom Yum that will bring tears of joy to your eyes. If you love Tom Yum that is.
I do love Tom Yum, and so do some other people I know. Together we are going to give the restaurant currently known as the Great Thai Chef a bit of a face lift. The old gal is sagging and needs our help, and we would like to think we are there for her.
I suspect some of the current fans of the place won’t understand why it has to change. Change is always a little thretening. So, to you who love the Great Thai Chef as it is, I would like to try to help you to understand that if the restaurant doesn’t change it will not survive.
And I don’t want to think of a world without that Tom Yum.
On March 12th the restaurant currently known as The Great Thai Chef closed for for renovations.
On March 23th Ronnarong, Thai Tapas Bar opens it’s doors.
